Abstrak

Introduction: Children are unique individuals, experience growth and development, and have biological, psychological, and spiritual needs that must be filled. An important period in a child's growth and development is the toddler period because this period is the basic growth that will influence and determine the next child's development. The toddler period shows further motor development with the ability to do more activities, develop curiosity, and explore objects around them. Therefore, the danger or risk of accidents must be watched out for.

Objective: The purpose of this service was to increase the knowledge of health cadres on how to prevent accidents at home in infants and toddlers.

Method: This public service was conducted by cadre training which was held for 3 meetings on 1st, 14th, and 22nd June 2022. The activity began with a pre-test and ended with a post-test.

Result: The pre-test findings showed that as many as 8 cadres (57.14%) had poor knowledge, as many as 6 cadres (42.86%) had sufficient knowledge, and none had good knowledge. The results of the post-test showed that there were no cadres who had less knowledge, sufficient knowledge increased to 8 people (72.73%), and those who had good knowledge were 3 people (27.27%). Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test scores, the average pretest value was 51.07 and the post-test was 75.27
