Introduction: Hypertension remains a major public health problem and a leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The high prevalence of uncontrolled hypertension requires promotive and preventive efforts involving community participation. Health cadres play an important role as community health promoters; however, this role requires adequate knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy. Empowerment through appropriate educational approaches is therefore needed to strengthen the capacity of health cadres in hypertension prevention. Objective: This community service aimed to improve the capacity and independence of health cadres through Student Centered Learning (SCL)-based education facilitated by nursing students in preventing hypertension in the community. Method: This community service applied a community empowerment approach through SCL-based health education, conducted in Citeureup Village, Dayeuhkolot District, Bandung Regency, involving 40 Posbindu health cadres. Activities included a pre-test, interactive education, group discussions, case studies, problem-solving, simulations, practical training, and post-test evaluation. Data were collected using structured questionnaires assessing knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy, along with observation checklists for skills evaluation. Result: All 40 participants (100%) attended the activity. Results showed improvements in knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy following the intervention. Mean knowledge score increased from 5.70 ± 1.40 to 9.00 ± 1.26, attitude score from 29.40 ± 2.94 to 32.75 ± 3.63, and self-efficacy score from 26.73 ± 3.44 to 32.10 ± 3.56. The Wilcoxon test revealed significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores (p<0.001). Conclusion: SCL-based education effectively improved health cadres' knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy in hypertension prevention, supporting their empowerment as community health promoters in strengthening prevention programs
